This Is How We Do IT!

Singing: (REMIX) This is how we do it! Its F-R-I-D-A-Y Day. Quarantine got you feeling uptight? Let's make it interesting, that's a plus, right?

I hope that made you laugh. Now, down to the juicy details. After a year of thinking about it and brainstorming, I am finally here. Yes, I am starting my blog now. As a nurse, I have a lot of experience in different settings and a lot to say. Before I get to "spilling the beans", I am going to take this time to talk about what N.U.R.S.E. stand for.

N.U.R.S.E sounds like such a simple name, but it is powerful. Let's break it down.

N- Nurses

U- United

R- Remaining

S- Supportive &

E- Empathetic

Mission:

The mission is to bring the nursing community together to support one another and offer guidance in overcoming difficult moments in nursing. I hope to promote retention in the nursing profession by sharing the truth and working through hard times together.

Vision:

The vision is to inspire, motivate, and encourage each nurse to become the best version of themselves and discover their passion within the nursing profession.

Focus

The focus is on the identification of problems and discussion of methods of improvement. We won’t rest until our good is our better and our better is our best.

This is a place to be free to say the first thing that comes to mind and receive no judgment.

So now let's get to the introductions. I'll go first. My name is Ebony and I have a background in long-term care, telemetry, med-surg, orthopedics(spinal sx), respiratory, oncology, and psych. What's your background? Feel free to comment on this post or go to the forum and start a discussion.

Next post: Saturday, April 11th at 1300

I did not want to end the week with Introductions. Tomorrow, we will discuss the coronavirus and its implications for healthcare professionals.

Thanks for reading. I will see you tomorrow.
